Circus Days for Schools
Pressplay's circus skills days & workshops are suitable for both primary and secondary schools. As our society changes, children's play is often static and screen-based. Circus skills provide an exhilarating way to develop coordination, balance, and concentration.
How the Day Runs
Our circus day begins with a 30-minute interactive assembly demonstration. This is followed by workshops for each class, ranging from 30 minutes for nursery/reception to 1 hour+ for Key Stage 2 and above.
Activities Include:
- Balancing peacock feathers
- Juggling scarves & balls
- Spinning plates & Chinese ribbons
- Poi, diabolos & devil sticks
- Pedal gos, fun wheels & stilts
Circus Days Rate: £295 for the full day.
After School Clubs
Circus skills offer a great balance between play and continued learning after school. It allows students to build their skills over a term, culminating in a showcase for parents and carers.
Recommended Times:
- Key Stage 1: 45 minutes
- Key Stage 2: 1 hour
Corporate Circus Skills
The thrills of the circus brought straight to your team!
Suitable for indoor and outdoor away days, team building, and ice-breaker sessions. With an emphasis on play, participants learn plate spinning, juggling, flower sticks, poi, diabolos, pedal gos, and stilts.
Corporate Storytelling
The art of communicating great business ideas.
Storytelling is a compelling form of communication used by leaders throughout time to inspire and motivate. Our workshops cover essential presentation and public speaking skills:
- Creating vivid mental images to bring spoken words to life
- Using pitch, tempo, and pause for maximum impact
- Understanding and applying powerful body language
Circus Skills Parties
A unique and exciting way for children aged 6–12 to celebrate their birthdays! Boosting confidence while having exhilarating fun.
Activities include balancing peacock feathers, plate spinning, juggling, diabolos, pedal gos, and stilt races!
Party Rate: £150 for 2 hours.
A Bit About Us
James Waters — Workshop Leader
James began his journey at six years old as an Irish Step Dancer, competing in three World Championships by age ten. He trained as a gymnast with the English School Boys squad and later worked professionally in West End and Royal Shakespeare Company productions.
He has been teaching circus skills to children and adults for over 14 years, witnessing firsthand the immense benefits of active play and skill acquisition.
